I know that the payer tab of a non-admitted or discharged (chart) episode of treatment transfers over to a new chart. We've had so many issues where the MD only box was checked on a previous chart and when we open a new chart it stays checked. I just happened to find 13 DOS dating from 1/25/22 to present where Medicare was skipped and Medicaid was billed first in error. I have brought this up to my employees in the past...that they need to watch for this but sometimes it gets overlooked. I would like to recommend that if the payer tab from one episode of treatment HAS TO transfer over to a new chart that at least the Bill MD only box be left blank. This has happened numerous times to us. Thank you.
